Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
Halloween As Halloween is nearly upon us, it can be a scary time for people who do not like surprises or callers at the door.
Here is our advice for elderly or vulnerable residents:
Place the ‘no trick or treats’ card on your door or in your window to help deter trick or treaters. You can download and print your own copy below. If you do receive an unexpected caller at the door do not feel pressured to answer it. If you are expecting a delivery or visit from a professional always ask for ID or confirmation of their workplace. If you have a door chain, make sure it is securely fastened at all times and lock your porch door. Be sure to use your spy hole viewer if you have one. If you have one, talk through your wireless video doorbell. Download and print off our ‘no trick or treats’ poster. Download and print off our 'Parents Guide to Halloween and fireworks
Arrests On Thursday we received a call of four males pushing a motorcycle. Officers attended and the males made off. The bike had clear signs of being tampered with. One male was detained and two more were tracked with the assistance of a drone. Great result.
Another great result this set, officers paying a visit to a property noted class A drugs, scales, and other drugs paraphernalia on a tabletop. Officers searched a male and found 16 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine. One male was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A. Two other persons at the address were also found to be wanted. One female for failing to appear x 3 and one male, failing to appear x 1.
Cannabis Factory Following a call of suspicious behaviour, members of the team responded and discovered a cannabis factory. Approximately 118 plants were inside and seized. Electrics are often bypassed at such factories and pose a real fire hazard and threat to neighbouring properties. Western Power came to join us to make the property safe. If you suspect a property near you is being used for such an operation, please report. You can also let us know anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers who are an independent charity. Call 0800 555 111 (free 24/7) or go online and submit a form on their website.
Delivery Scam We have been made aware of a resident receiving parcels delivered to their address from a mobile phone company which they had not ordered. A person then knocked on the door asking for the parcels. Please be aware of this type of fraud. If you receive goods that you have not ordered and they have your address on it, do not accept. Crime figures Over the past nine days, there have been three reports of vehicle crime being a theft from vehicle on BIRCHFIELD ROAD (bank card and money stolen), and two theft of vehicles from LIONSFIELD AVENUE (Volkswagen) and TAMWORTH ROAD (Range Rover Evoque).
Two residential burglaries have been reported on BEAKE AVENUE and KERESLEY ROAD. Both were broken into via the front door.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
